Digital Addiction: What the Neuroscience Shows
Neuroscience has revealed that brain scans of hard-core video gamers are nearly identical to cocaine addicts. Brain scans of porn addicts show more damage than heroin addicts. Thirty-five percent of victims of cyberbullying scored above the threshold for symptoms of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, and twenty-nine percent of the teenagers who did cyberbullying also showed signs of PTSD. Research shows that more 35-year-olds play video games than teenagers. Mothers are often more addicted to social media than their daughters. This session explores these issues and more. Casting a Biblical Vision for Children’s Ministry
Why does your children’s ministry exist? Can you clearly articulate what a children’s ministry is designed to accomplish? This workshop will help you identify a biblical vision for children’s ministry. Without a biblical vision, ministries become trendy programs or social clubs without direction. With biblical vision, a ministry can be Spirit-led, Jesus centered, and rooted in the word of God.

Training Children to Pray: the ACTS Method
Talking with God through prayer is one of the most crucial aspects of the Christian life, but it can sometimes feel intimidating for children. Young believers may feel like they don’t know what to say or how to start. Join us as we discuss a simple acronym (ACTS) and practical ways to train children to have a prayer life that is their very own. This workshop is best suitable for elementary students.

Capturing the Hearts of 4th, 5th, & 6th Graders
There’s not a generation left that has not been negatively affected by technology. We even see phones and tablets in baby strollers. According to Barna Research and Impact 360 Institute, the Biblical worldview among both Millennials and Gen Zer’s is 4%. Gen Alpha is trouble as well. In my experience, the hearts of those in grades four through six are still tender, even though most of them are addicted to technology. For those who teach those grades, it’s crucial to “seize the moment” before they move on to higher grades. This session explores some strategies to do just that.
